A Night At The opera

I am waiting for the Basta performance of Tosca, an opera by Puccini.  This may be a full performance or only a partial.  Basta means enough so maybe in this case it is just enough of Tosca, all one can stomach on a Saturday night.  Personally I think I could handle a full showing.

What a setting this will be to watch this famous opera.  Jackie and I had talked about seeing a performance at La Scala in Milan.  This is not a famous opera house but it's certainly got a few years on Milan.  This evening's stage is surrounded by walls built in the middle ages atop a foundation completed in 148 AD!

I'm back at Castel Sant'Angelo again on a beautiful evening.  The weather couldn't be better.  There is a slight breeze and it is just now getting dark.  We watched the sun setting over St. Peter's Basilica before being allowed to come in at 8:30.  Could anything make for a better evening in Rome?

4 minutes until the opening so it's time to sit back and wait.
