My last night in Ripabottoni

Tonight I'm going for the pizza at the local restaurant.  I choose the melazana and pepperoni pizza.  Pepperoni in Ripabottoni has no meat in it.  Instead it is roasted peppers and very very good.  The pizza is super thin and tastes perfect with a half liter of wine.

The food is really good and is always served with a smile.  The place is a good place to hang out.  Talk about character.  It is clean, unsophisticated, homey.  I wonder if the girl working ever gets time off she has been here every time I come.

If I knew Italian better I could see myself coming back here to visit.  I would love to come with my sisters some day.  Maybe in a couple of years.  By then they should be able to restock the Ripabottoni souvenirs.  The entire supply was bought out by an American who's been skulking around for days.  My Italian language skills may be better by then too.  People want to talk to me but I keep stumbling with the language.

Fashion for the younger set is not too different  in the backwoods Ripabottoni as it is back home.  The boys are wearing their pants too low.  I don't know if I thought they would be wearing traditional peasant outfits or what but I didn't expect to see that.  The young girls showed up tonight two with one of the card playing boys from earlier today.  The girls could pass for girls back home except a bit more aggressive.  They yell and hit the boys... they hit them a lot.

I just now noticed the ceiling.  There is a design painted up there.  I'm starting to get a little drunk now.  This ceiling is really impressing me.  A long hike some beers and a half bottle of wine will take it's toll on you.  I better get myself a gelato and head out.
